Bröllopsfotografen

This film - 'Bröllopsfotografen' ('The Wedding Photographer') - is made by Ulf Malmroos who also directed one of my mother-in-laws favourite films, 'Den bästa sommaren' ('A Summer Tale').

The film contains a number of clichées concerning differences between the 'upper class' and the 'working class' (if these social markers could be said being relevant today), people living in a big city (metropolis) and on the countryside etc. but on a whole it's a rather charming story.
Robin (Björn Starrin), a young man from the countryside, wants to become a succesful photographer and he's convinced that this could be done by taking care of everything around a wedding. The work as a wedding photographer becomes his dream.
When arrriving to Stockholm he finds himself working in an environment with people who can't accept him. They look upon him as a kind of 'redneck individual'.
He on the other hand, finds the wealthy, 'upper class'-people being very superficial, hiding their problems under a surface of happiness and success.
In the small northern town where he had lived and worked, he had met an actor called Jonny Björk (Kjell Bergqvist), who he had hired to perform at a wedding between Robins brother and girlfriend. When coming to Stockholm Jonny - reluctantly - becomes his mentor, for good and for worse.
Of course he falls in love with the sister to the bride - Astrid (Tuva Novotny) - both being the daughters of the succesful business leader Claes (Johannes Brost).
Astrid also works as a photographher and Robin tries to enroll her in his businessplans.
Robin adapts himself to the situation but this adaptation is not well received when coming back to his small town on the countryside, where they find him having become somewhat 'high-hat'.

The director uses three actors that also participated in 'A Summer Tale', namely Anastasios Soulis, Rebecca Scheja and Kjell Bergqvist.

As I participated as an extra in this film, I tried to find myself at the wedding outside the church but unfortunately I couldn't see myself, though I had spotted my face (and body) in a trailer.
This did not mean that I judged the film differently though! :-D

Millenium 3 - Luftslottet som sprängdes

Do you recognize me in the photo below? Well, the white circle helps, doesn't it?!

This is a photo from the third part in the Millenium Trilogy: The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, in french La Reine dans le palais des courants d'air.

It's from a party at the editorial office, looking at a TV broadcast from when Lisbeth Salander was released from custody.

Män som hatar kvinnor/ The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo

Now I've seen the second part of the first episode - The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo - of the adaptation for the movies of Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy - and this time in Swedish (with French subtitles, French television).

I participated, dubbing some characters in the film. More about that below.

I'm not at all impressed - thinking about the good publicity both the books and the film have received - but there are some good acting and some good settings and I would really like to underline 'some', as most of the acting is indeed mediocre.

This goes not least for the main characther Mikael Blomkvist (Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist) but also for a great number of the other actors involved.

Noomi Rapace does indeed impersonate Lisbeth Salander better than Michael does Mikael and she is one of the best actors in the film but she is by no means 'stunning' either.

I also feel that there are flaws when it comes to the direction and sometimes the cues sound somewhat stiff and doesn't at all correspond with the, sometimes, strong sentiments displayed on the screen.

This might have to do with the director - Nils Arden Oplev - or the actors or both.
The mise en scène could have been much more elaborated and executed in a more thrilling way.

Now I feel that the tension disappears, not least in scenes that could have become very exciting and even shocking.

I have read the first book in the trilogy and Aurore all three and they haven't impressed on us. The last one is the least bad, Aurore says.

I will follow the other parts in this trilogy, through French television and I really hope that they display a higher quality than this.

If I could here my voice? Well, as I wrote, I dubbed some voices but to concentrate on that wasn't my goal. I know that I did the voice of one of the furniture removers helping Mikael Blomkvist moving in to the small house near the Vanger family; a police man; a truck driver; some people on 'Stureplan' in the center of Stockholm, talking about the headlines on the newspapers etc. 

In the third and last film, I however participate during a party at the editorial office of the Millenium newspaper.

Bröllopsfotografen

Ulf Malmroos is the name of the director, a director who among other œuvres also made 'Den bästa sommaren' ('A Summer Tale'), one of my mother-in-laws favourite movies.

If you watch carefully you will find me among the guests in the video above, dressed in a tailcoat and below within the white circle.

Yes it's me to the right, acting a very stupid buyer of a boat, not knowing anything about the sea, not even what a pole is.

It looks as if I'm taking out a gun or something but it is only the wallet.

The sales person to the right was a young man 2 meters 04 cm high! 
I don't like to look up to people but this time I had to!

Dialect reklam

I'm participating in this commercial, as you can see, doing the 'role' of an office employee. The commercial was also recorded for television.

We, 'the naughty men', are supposed to look at pornographic pictures or films when our young boss (played by musical artist Joanna Pereira) enters the room. She wonders what is going on as the internet is working so slowly.

We knew nothing of course.

The point is to promote the internet enterprise mentioned in the commercial.

The Grave 2/The Murders

I was called in as an extra again. This time in a Swedish tv-series called Graven (in English: 'The Grave') , later on called Morden (or 'The Murders').

Me and the other extras (only men) had the pleasure working with the actress Marie Richardsson.

When she was surrounded by us men in a specific scene I looked at the group and told her and the others that I had found a suitable name for us: 

'The Beauty and the Beasts'.

It was a nice day, the sun was shining but it was quite cold in the shadow.
