La première exposition au Musée des Racines, Thevet Saint-Julien : Le peintre Jacques Bridier

Pour la première exposition de l'année j'ai choisi le peintre Jacques Bridier, originaire de Thevet Saint-Julien. Son père travaillait comme charron dans la commune à la même époque que l'abbé Aymon et ils ont aussi collaboré en réalisant l’atelier de production dans la commune. 

Jacques Bridier est décédé en 2008, mais j'ai contacté sa veuve Mme Marie-France Bridier pour accrocher des tableaux de son mari. Elle a été assez aimable pour accepter mon invitation.

Elle avait emmené plusieurs aquarelles mais aussi deux huiles. J'ai fait un tri et finalement j'ai choisi d'exposer une trentaine de tableaux. 
Une partie avec des aquarelles représentant Thevet Saint-Julien et Vicq-Exemplet (ou l'abbé Aymon travaillait à l'époque), une partie avec les communes limitrophes, une partie avec des motifs marins mais pas du tout reliés géographiquement (la Bretagne, l'Île d'Yeu etc...). Finalement il y a aussi deux tableaux d'huiles, un avec un poulailler, un autre avec des tournesols.

Ils sont tous en vente et le prix est fixé entre 80€ et 100€ pour les aquarelles.

L'exposition dur jusqu'au 2 juin.

For the first exhibition this year, I've chosen the painter Jacques Bridier, born in Thevet Saint-Julien. His father worked as a wheelwright in the town, during the same periode as the vicar André Aymon and they collaborated in creating the workshop in the town.

Jacques Bridier died in 2008 but I contacted his widow, Mme Marie-France Bridier in order to install the paintings. She was kind enough to accept my invitation.

She had brought many watercolor paintings but also oil paintings. I chosed some of them and finally I installed some thirty paintings.
One section with watercolor paintings from Thevet Saint-Julien and Vicq-Exemplet (where the vicar l'abbé Aymon worked at the time), one section with the surrounding towns, one section with sea motives but not at all related geographically (Bretagne, l'Île d'Yeu  etc...). Finally there are also two oil paintings, one with a chiken coop, the other with Sunflowers.

The are all for sale and the prize is fixed between 80 and 100€ for the watercolor paintings.

The exhibition continues until the 2nd of June.
